This buoyant lane separator emerges due to its buoyant quality, therefore, when water or snow covers the road over the height of the traffic lane, it will raise this device automatically. In this way, drivers will still be able to recognize the position of the lane markings. Buoyancy-Road system can also be activated manually inthe case of a temporary lane reversal.

The bottom part of Beyond Silence digital piano concept has been designed with a diaphragm to create stronger vibrations and music waves for other hearing-impaired people to feel on the ground.

The stunning Bullet by Philip Pauley is a motorbike designed with four short wings and has an extraordinary twist. It has the tail fin combined with a compact jet engine at the back. Once the thruster is switched on, the bike will lift itself and its rider into the air. Bullet Flying Superbike flying performance on the track has sufficient lift through its extended wings. Bullet provides significantly higher speeds than could be expected from a track performance motorbike. When projected into the air it is as manouverable as a low level fly by from a jet fighter. It has additional fuel storage facilities and this can make a 300+mph assault making even the longest track seem very short. No pilot license is required for this but a winner’s mentality and balls of steel are a must.

The social acceptance is based on how much the prosthetic resembles human leg, but there hasn’t been any active movement to bring prosthetic leg from a utilitarian gear to a highly fashionable accessory that reflects the amputee’s taste, possibly a prosthetic that he/she want to show off, and don’t have to bear with people looking at them pathetically anymore.

In a major disaster, thousands of response vehicles are needed in a short period of time, however it usually takes over a week for these Emergency Resnpose Vehicles (ERVs) to arrive on the location while the need for food and water is immediate. The challenge of this project is to find affordable solution that enables the Red Cross to respond to a large scale disaster in a short period of time.

You probably still remember the coffee machine design, this kettle features similar artistic design with subtle soothing blue light. Throughout the hospital there will be several docking base where the nurse can dock the Toshiba Rx to recharge the battery and input data easily through a washable and removable rubber made keyboard. However, in front of the keyboard there is a touchpad located on the raised portion, it also includes mouse option for more convenient use. The entire design is easy for cleaning and disinfecting, which is of vital importance in hospitals.

Froot is a bio friendly desktop computer concept, which was also a participant of DELL Regeneration Green Computing Technology Contest, features laser technology and high end projecting for efficient and convenient computing. With this concept, the need of external peripherals like monitor or keyboard has been eliminated by projecting them onto any flat surface. Froot has been made by using starch based polymer made biodegradable skin that ensures a close loop of the product by returning the electrical components to the manufacturer for recycle and reuse. Moreover, Froot promotes social interaction by using the projected screen as a media center for business or family entertainment.

The Crowd was designed in Germany by Philipp Schaake. It has won the second place under the LIFEBOOK category for Fujitsu Design Award 2011. It features a range of special usage technique together with a slate pattern, notebook design, and also a configuration where the display screen and keyboard are detached. This design plan provides a notebook which can be flexibly driven to fit several application or desired usage. With a stress on the notebook’s rear cover, the most important feature is that the PC is even capable of operating when closed. The design can to adapt to a number of usage set-up from the LIFEBOOK kind for notebook PCs to be introduced in 2013.

Breaking the conservative loop, Locus swings its inimitable orbit by synchronizing the idea of time tell, walllamp and art decor. This Locus clock is using a simple hyperbola as the hour and minute orbit, two motion wheels are attached to the hyperbolic case and controlled by magnetic mechanism, as they swing along its locus, the instant time, is thus showed by the corresponding coordinate markedly.

The automatic lighting feature of the hyperbolic locus as well as the indexes in dark environment provides both decorative light effect and continuous time telling feature in any circumstance.

What time is it? Look up, you’ll know. Perhaps that’s the kind of conversation you’ll be having when you have Time Stretch clock. Designed by Scott Young, a Detroit-based designer, this unique clock that looks like a smoke detector will project the hands of clock around the entire room. Scott said that before the invention of the clock or other time telling devices, people used to read the time of day by watching the sunabove. Inspired by this tradition, Scott has designed an innovative timepiece to channel this tradition on a smaller scale. Time Stretch will also challenge the way we have now been taught to tell time.

This futuristic Citroen Maglev race car concept is part of this industrial designer’s research to develop a race car that you can drive outside the race track. Considering by the time we reach 2030 most cars would be electric, this race car is also designed to be totally electric with ultra light body material. Thedriver seat is located at the center of this three-wheeled futuristic vehicle, the lower center gravity will avoid accidental roll over at high speed.

Minimal Silicone E-Ink Wristwatch that features minimal design, yet with maximum statement. Designed by Anthony Puleo, the same designer who sent us Nooka watch design proposal, this minimalwristwatch features E-ink technology behind a beautifully faceted display face. Ultra thin and light weight, the watch weighs only .63 ounce. The unibody silicone body is water resistant up to 6 meters. It can be worn on either wrist and comes in 4 color choices. Since it’s digital, we kinda hope it has date and alarm features, but there’s no further explanation from the designer.
