Allochroous Yacht is the winner of 2012 Millenium Yacht Design Award (MYDA) in Dream Boat Category. Designed by Ezgi Aksan, Turkish designer, and Ambra Ceronetti, Italian designer, Allochroous…an adjective in English which means “changing color” which these two designers think as the best name to represent their yacht design. Allochroous Yacht features transformable body and color through its innovative technology. You will see different form of yacht in the morning and in the night.

Language of the style is always the same but we can say that this yacht is especially for the special “nights”… because Allochroous Yacht has been designed for special concerts. Well, actually this yacht is not only for concerts but also for VIP movie premiers, exhibitions, important events or boutique theatre presentations. So we can say that this project will be for someone who is a member of such a high class society. People from these kind of Elite groups will attend prestigious events which will be held on this yacht. All expenses can be paid by sponsors or financers of the events or depending on the situation, guests can come to listen live music which is just organized for a few people.

If we have to talk about technical details a bit, Allochroous Yacht is 40-meters long and has threeparts under the hull which two of them are floating and one which is on the back by itself with motor. When the yacht is on the move, the two twin arms under the body are open and provide floatation mechanism for the boat. If the boat has to stop which it happens when someone has to get into the yacht; the arms move toward each other and become almost in closed position. At this point they create more weight and make the yacht goes down slowly. When it goes down, access to the yacht becomes easy with automatic folding stairs.

Allochroous Yacht is equipped with valuable materials. It is constructed of solid, aluminum body and “Corian” flooring. The solar panel on the roof can generate alternative energy for this yacht to operate. Can you imagine enjoying a beautiful summer concert on the sea?

Well, according to Phil Pauley, this concept is a revolution in portable power supply as part of “Mobile/Smart Grid” application framework that communicates directly with a central national infrastructure to maintain lifecycle management. Powerpack365 power supply has been designed in a range of sizes to suit all applications from mobile to domestic scales. This smart power supply provides electrical item management for up to 365 days or a year of continual use.

Basically Powerpack365 system consists of an arrangement of solar cells and light emitting technology facing each other within an enclosed case. These solar cells generate twice the amount of power required from the light source in this way the extra energy can be utilized to power third party devices. The power pack rides pillion attaching to the back of third party devices and the power is transferred wirelessly directly into your gadgets such as cell phones, laptops, tablets, or even flat screen TVs. For a larger scale domestic use, user can install racking systems similar to tallfridge freezers in a room within any home to act as independent electrical power supply.

Here is another new futuristic free-shaped structure by Architect Ephraim-Henry Pavie, Biomorphic House. Hand made green house, soft and sensitive biomorphic architecture for a magical environment. The Biomorphic House is facing the Mediterranean Sea from its 1000-meters high, the panoramic bay windows have been shaped like amazing sunglasses overlooking the sea.

The Nurbs-like glazing surfaces provide ideal support for mounting the brand new kinds of transparent Photovoltaic-cells. The electricity produced by such an area of PV-Cells units is to be converted in Hydrogen (through a self powered water electrolyze process) and compressed into containers for a later use. This zero-emission pilot-project includes the development of a Hydrogen powered PEM-Fuel-Cell generator, providing electricity while the only “emissions” are reusable heat and pure water.

The curvaceous and organic skin of Biormorphic house developed Pavie-Architecture Company plays with aerodynamic shapes which deal in an elegant way with the strong winter storms. The interior design is the natural extension of the inside of the skin. The all concept looks like a magical world where you escape the limits between floors, free shaped walls and ceilings, it’s going to feel as if you are relaxing in a large peaceful luxurious yacht or space ship anchored over a magical landscape. Pavie says that this eco-house is a world class design featuring futuristic beauty, passion and performance.

A backpack with hood? Well we have featured that concept sometime ago from Abraham Peter, but this time, it’s not a concept (at least PUMA says it’s going to be released as their Spring/Summer lines), it’s PUMA UM Backpack by Hussein Chalayan. This backpack features a hood to cover your head from rain, but somehow we love Helix backpack design from Abraham Peter much better. What do you think?
